The Core Story
Over 20 years ago, Dr Pia Winberg was motivated to design sustainable solutions to marine food production. She found that seaweed was the missing link in creating a circular economy food production from the oceans. Then Pia developed the technology to capture rogue nutrients like CO2 and nitrogen in the coastal zone. Seaweed reoxygenates the oceans, buffers against acidity, and balances nutrients.
In doing so, Pia realised what a nutritional dynamite seaweed was, and for the last 14 years has been showing how seaweed fills the gap for so many missing nutrients in our diets, some of them able to overcome global health challenges such as inflammation, trace element deficiencies, and to deliver more protein to the world than a cattle farm.
